Bunchedup.tv Get-together Day2Food-Saturday

Thursday, December 20th, 2007

I made sure everyone was well-fed throughout the day. Maybe they were a little too well-fed. The routine: drive around and if there’s a parking space (because parking is so hard to find on a Saturday afternoon) take it.

Nick, Saminnyc and Doug had lunch without us. WTH, right? So Jen and I grabbed food ourselves. They sure missed out! A true SF experience, eating at a popular hole-in-the-wall counter-seating restaurant.

Imperial Roll with meat sauce over rice. Yes, New Yorkers, that is what we (and the rest of the world) call an imperial roll.

We all finally met up. From this point on, you’ll start seeing everything in five. DO NOT be alarmed. You are not seeing quintuples. Our first treat together: mochi!

Bunchedup.tv Get-together Day1-Friday

Thursday, December 20th, 2007

The Norcalers got invaded by the out of town bunchkins from bunchedup.tv.

Jonas’s edit:
First, I picked Nick up at the airport in the morning (flying in from LA) and had breakfast at Christie’s while waiting for Saminnyc and Doug to fly in from NY. After picking up the New Yorkers, I left them in the middle of the city and went to work.

Friday Saminnyc, Nick, and Doug picked me and Corliss up at the bart station. We were pleasantly surprised with a nice, shiny Mustang convertible, and of course we cruised with the top down.

We made a quick pit stop to grab some lunch since Corliss and I were starving. Naturally we both got a salad although I said I could eat a cow.

Afterwards we walked around Haight Street since the boys have never been there; thank god for the Garmin otherwise we would have been screwed! Then we got hungry again and decided to grab a “little” dessert at Ghirardelli Square; after large amounts of chocolate, we felt like yacking. How are we going to make it to dinner?

We headed back to Saminnyc’s boss place to drop off the car and to wait for Jonasty to pick us up. We have this thing where we bunch (pull pranks) on each other, so Corliss and I hid Saminnyc’s house keys. We watch him panic and frantically search for them; yes, we are assholes.

Jonasty came shortly thereafter, and we packed 6 Asians in a Prius. It was nice and cozy; especially in the backseat. I could feel the heat from the front, literally!

We met up with the rest of the bunchkins (Gary, Mimi, Jon) and my two girl friends (Nhung and Connie) for dinner at Sino – possibly the worst restaurant in Santana Row. I made 8:45 reservations, and we weren’t even seated till past 9:30. I was pissed, and I gave the hostess attitude. The food came quick and it wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t anything spectacular either.

We ended our evening at KTV Kareoke in Milpitas where Brian, another bunchkin, came to hang out. It was a good recommendation; clean place, but I wish they had a wider range of song collections! Before singing, we did our White Elephant gift exchange, and I stole Jonas’ gift which was really appropriate for him too – a whole bag of goodies. Yes, I am evil! Muahaha.

Here are some photos. The rest of the photos are here for your viewing, downloading, and printing pleasure!
