Thursday, November 22nd, 2007

Almost every morning at work I have a banana for breakfast, mainly because my work supplies us with fruits and bananas are the most convenient to eat because I can eat it and work at the same time - just watch the video below.

However, bananas are not just convenient but amazingly healthy too. Here are 19 things you should know about bananas and why you should follow my diet by eating a banana a day regularly (source):

  1. Vitamin B6 is the vitamin needed by people who feel weak, irritated easily and have difficulty in sleeping.
  2. Potassium regulates blood pressure and reduces chances of high blood pressure and stroke.
  3. Potassium enables muscles to contract and expand smoothly during exercises. It reduces cramps.
  4. Potassium helps to rid fluid retention .
  5. Carbohydrate found in bananas contribute to the daily energy usage.

  9. Not only chocolates, but bananas too have serotonin and norepinephrine that helps elevate depression. It naturally improves your mood.
  10. Banana is the best fruit to eat after a 4km jog. As the body loses vitamins and minerals, 2 bananas is enough to replace the nutrients lost as well as replenishing energy.
  11. Bananas are the best solid food to introduce to infants. The fact is bananas contain 0% fat, is easy to digest and is not allergenic.
  12. Bananas are a natural hit with kids because of it’s taste. Moreover, children are growing all the time and they need the energy provided by bananas.

  18. To preserve bananas, put them in the fridge. The peel will darken but the inside remains firm and delicious.
  19. To ripen bananas faster, put them a paper bag with an apple and a tomato.

The Shampoo - vlog quickie by jonas

I’ve always been a drugstore brand person when it came to my hair. I’ve been switching back and forth between Infusium 23 shampoo/conditioner (because that’s the kind of samples that came with hair dye/bleach products back when I used to bleach my hair) and Aussie shampoo/conditioner (because I like the name).

Yesterday, I don’t know how it happened but I decided to go the salon approach and ordered a couple bottles of American Crew shampoo and conditioner. That’s four 33.8oz bottles total. I hope this $53.50 I just spent is worth it.

Here’s the secret to my diet: eat whatever I want and ALWAYS exercise. 165 pounds, 41″ chest, 34″ waist, 36″ hips, 5′10″ tall. And the most I can bench is 45*4+10*4+45=265lbs. Any other questions?
