It was really relaxing actually, sitting among the rocks; taking in the vast ocean view – as well as watching the little fishies swim about in the water.

Stanley is located on the other side of HK island, facing the pacific ocean. It’s quite popular among the local westerners as well as foreign tourists. Here you will find Stanley Market where they sell “no brand” items (of course lol!), pubs and restaurants, as well as a Tin Hau Temple. I was reading the sign in front of the temple and it said two bombs were dropped onto the temple during WWII by the Japanese and neither was detonated. The Tin Hau goddess is quite powerful then

Recently they added many other tourist friendly developments, such as a boardwalk, new shops and restaurants. They’ve also transplanted a historical pier (Blake Pier) that operates boats to/from Aberdeen and Po Tai; as well as the Murray House reconstructed stone by stone, which now houses fine dining. They have a new library built as well! With a very pretty roof top garden overlooking the busiest part of Stanley.

Obviously the Stanley I was once familiar with is now completely different.

So cute! Sometimes I think I should live in a cartoon world… someplace like Toon Town at Disneyland hahaha!

Anyway, if not a cartoon world then… perhaps this is a better alternative
